DR. MOHAMAD KHORSHID

DENTIST

Dr. Mohamad Khorshid is the owner of Mississauga Smiles Dentistry and a well-rounded practitioner with extensive experience spanning both his professional career and personal passions. His journey is marked by dedication to excellence, a deep appreciation for cultural diversity, and a unique blend of academic and artistic pursuits.

Dr. Khorshid’s career began in 2000 when he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Dental Sciences (BDS) from the College of Dentistry at Baghdad University. Shortly after graduating, he joined some of the most esteemed private dental clinics in Baghdad, where he honed his expertise in general dentistry over the course of two years.

Beyond his professional practice, Dr. Khorshid’s love for music played a pivotal role in shaping his life. An accomplished guitarist, he performed regularly as part of a music ensemble in Baghdad during his student years. In 2002, his musical talent led to an extraordinary opportunity: he and his group were selected by the French government for a three-month musical tour in southern France. Following this enriching experience, Dr. Khorshid was granted a full scholarship from the French government to continue his postgraduate studies in Orthodontics at the University of Paris VII, University of Dijon, and University of Paris VI, where he successfully completed his specialty in Orthodontics and Dento-facial Orthopedics before moving to Canada in 2007.

Staying true to his passion and love for dentistry, in 2009, Dr. Khorshid was accepted into the prestigious Internationally Trained Dentists program at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Western Ontario. He successfully completed his studies and graduated among the top of his class, receiving the Dr. George Bedrosian Memorial Award in Restorative Dentistry.

After graduating in 2011, Dr. Khorshid joined the Schulich Faculty of Dentistry as an Adjunct Professor in the Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry undergraduate program. He has also focused on continuing education in Orthodontics, clear aligners, braces, TMD/TMJ, occlusion, and advanced cosmetic dentistry, and investing in the latest CAD/CAM technologies.

Having lived, studied, and worked in his home country, France, and Canada, Dr. Khorshid values the multicultural experiences that have profoundly shaped his perspective. His diverse background, encompassing both professional expertise and creative pursuits, continues to inspire his approach to dentistry and life.

DR. MINDI SHOKAR

DENTIST

Dr. Mindi Shokar received her undergrad degree in Life Sciences at McMaster University and her Doctor of Dentistry degree from the University of Toronto. She is very passionate about patient care and making sure she keeps up with all the latest literature and advances in dentistry. She especially loves working with children and getting them to love coming to the dentist! In her spare time, she likes to do yoga and play board games.

Dr. Nerdin Medhat

DENTIST

General Dentist in GTA, extensive education and experience in Periodontal plastic gum surgeries and Implant Dentistry. Born in Baghdad 1973. Studied Bachelor of Dental Science in the University of Baghdad, College of Dentistry. Continued Post Graduate Studies in the Fields of Periodontology (gum) and Implant Dentistry. In the University Paris 7 (Diderot), obtained the Certificates of Superior Studies in Anatomy-Physiology and a Major in Periodontology. Obtained a University Diploma in Implant Dentistry the same University in Paris. In New York City, Columbia University, obtained an advanced Implant Continuum mini residency under renowned clinician and International Lecturer Dr. Dennis Tarnow.

In Paris, worked closely with Dr. JM DERSOT, President of the French Society of Periodontology and a remarkable French Clinician and International Lecturer in the Fields of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.

Worked for 4 years in the Ministry of Health, UAE. Exclusive to Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. Member of the examining committee of UAE Ministry of health.

In March 2012 Moved to Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada and successfully Finished the National Dental Examination Board of Canada( NDEB) Equivalency Process) and Canadian Dental Board Certification in 2014. Started working in Guelph and Hamilton as General Dentist since 2015.

Dr. Nerdin Medhat is a proud Father of 3 Children, 2 girls and a boy.
